Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry had surgery on his right ankle last May to repair two torn ligaments, but that hasn’t stopped the ankle from causing him big problems this season. In Wednesday evening’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Curry sprained the ankle for the third time this season.

Curry said that this one was the most painful of the three, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

“Just another reaggravation of the same thing that’s been happening,” Curry said after the game while soaking his foot in ice, the paper reports. “Just another frustrating incident I’ve got to deal with.”

Curry’s first sprain of the season occurred in the team’s second preseason game and his second came in the team’s second game of the season against the Chicago Bulls, forcing him to miss the next game. Now Curry is hoping he’ll be recovered in time to play on Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers.

When he has been on the court for the 2-4 Warriors this season, Curry, who was selected seventh overall in the 2009 draft, has averaged 15.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game.

But there’s one more team he’s aiming to add to the list before the 35-year-old calls it a career: the Charlotte Bobcats.

Jamison was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, but he was raised in North Carolina and would like to finish out his career with a stint with the Bobcats, according to the Charlotte Observer.

A free agent this summer, Jamison would like to play for two or three more seasons and told the Observer Tuesday that he’d try to make them be with the Bobcats: “That’s always been a dream of mine to be home,” he said, the paper reports. “To have my parents there (at home games), to have my kids there.”

Jamison, a two-time All-Star who won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award back in 2004, is averaging 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and one assist per game this season for the Cavs.

Chicago Bulls shooting guard Rip Hamilton has missed the last two games with a groin injury but is “hopeful that he will be able to play on Wednesday night” against his former employer, the Detroit Pistons, according to ESPN Chicago.

“I’m feeling a little better,” he said Tuesday night, the site reports. “Hopefully it will feel a little bit better (Wednesday).”

Hamilton would really like to be back in action against Detroit, where he spent the last nine seasons before his contract was bought out this past offseason.

“It’s going to be fun,” Hamilton said, ESPN Chicago reports. “It’s going to be exciting. It’s going to be emotional just from being a part of that organization for so long. The fans were always great to me so it’s going to be fun.”

The injury came Friday during the third quarter of the Bulls victory over the Los Angeles Clippers.

In the four games he’s played for the Bulls this season, Hamilton has averaged 12 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

Center Ronny Turiaf got traded from the New York Knicks back in December as the team made room for Tyson Chandler to join and help New York create its own Big Three. That addition hasn’t paid off fully for the Knicks just yet as they’ve gone 2-3.

Turiaf, however, has gotten himself into much worse territory. He’s now playing for the league’s only winless team, the Washington Wizards, and also will now be out for some time after breaking his left hand during Monday’s loss to the Boston Celtics, according to the Washington Post.

The paper notes that Turiaf broke the same hand last summer while playing with the French national team and is expected to be out of action for five to six weeks.

This will mean more playing time for JaVale McGee, who had 16 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots against the Celts Monday, and Kevin Seraphin.

The 6-10 Turiaf was averaging 1.5 points, three rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game this season.

The Houston Rockets have signed Samuel Dalembert to a two-year, $13.7 million deal. The Sacramento Kings had upped their efforts to re-sign Dalembert after voiding the contract of Chuck Hayes, according to the Sacramento Bee.

“We tried to re-engage with them and see if we could try to get to something that I hoped worked for both of our interests going forward,” Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie said, according to the Bee.

But it was too late. Dalembert signed on with the Rockets, leaving the Kings shorthanded with only a few days left before the season gets underway.

ESPN reports, though, that the Golden State Warriors are looking to fill their own hole at center with 24-year-old Ukrainian free agent center Kyrylo Fesenko. However, the Warriors are not alone. The Miami Heat, a team that caught a lot of heat during last season for not having a strong enough center, are also trying to snag Fesenko, ESPN reports.

The 7-1, 280-pound Fesenko has spent the last four seasons with the Utah Jazz. He was drafted in the second round of 2007’s draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. In his career, he has averaged 8:18 minutes, 2.3 points, two rebounds, and 0.4 blocks per game.

The Golden State Warriors were potentially watching their season go down the drain before it even got started when point guard Stephen Curry was helped off the court Tuesday with yet another ankle injury.

His MRI results Wednesday brought good news, though, the Oakland Tribune reports: “Tests revealed Curry didn’t sustain any ligament damage” and “the repairs made in his offseason surgery are still intact.”

It remains unclear when Curry will take to the court again but his team is scheduled to appear in one of the league’s three Christmas Day matchups. The Warriors will face off against the revamped and re-energized Los Angeles Clippers.

“Hoping for the Christmas Miracle,” Curry said, the Tribune reports.

The 23-year-old Curry averaged 18.6 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game last season.

The Portland Trail Blazers had to take to the court Wednesday night for its final preseason tune-up without the services of 6-11 center Marcus Camby after “tweaking his left knee during warm-ups,” according to the Associated Press. Portland won the game in its waning seconds when Michael Beasley sunk two free throws to make the score 85-84.

Camby will take a trip into the MRI tube Thursday, the AP reports, That’s the same knee, by the way, that Camby had surgery on back in January to patch up a partial tear of the meniscus.

“I don’t want to make a big deal out of it,” Camby said, according to the Oregonian. “We’ll know more (today), but I don’t think it’s anything. If it was Monday (during the season opener), I would be out there.”

It looks like New Jersey Nets center Brook Lopez will get his wish to play beside power forward Kris Humphries again. Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Humphries, who is getting plenty of extra press these days due to his marital breakup with reality-TV star Kim Kardashian, has re-signed with the Nets.

The deal is expected to be for one year and around $8 million, Wojnarowski reports. Humphries should even be suited up for the Nets in the team’s preseason game against the New York Knicks Wednesday night.

“Humphries envisioned getting $10 million annually on a long-term contract, but that market clearly wasn’t available,” Wojnarowski notes. “The Nets have been careful about offering multiyear deals this offseason, choosing to keep salary-cap space available for the pursuit of possible free agent Dwight Howard next summer.”

The 26-year-old Minnesota native averaged 10 points and 10.4 rebounds per game last year.
