The Orlando Magic apparently had veteran point guard Jason Williams work out for them on Tuesday, according to AOL FanHouse.

He took the year off last year, saying he was retired just after he signed a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clips released the 33-year-old earlier this summer and he’s supposedly worked out for a few teams, including the New York Knicks. Orlando, though, is supposedly his first choice since his wife and kids are living there. One small problem is that the Magic is pretty stocked at point guard with Jameer Nelson and backup Anthony Johnson.

Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas has had three knee operations in less than two years and only played in two games last year, which is part of the reason the Wizards ended up winning only 19 games and losing 63 last season. Well, Arenas is apparently back, better than ever , and ready to pull the Wizards out of contention for being the worst in the league.

Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas has had three knee operations in less than two years and only played in two games last year, which is part of the reason the Wizards ended up winning only 19 games and losing 63 last season.

Well, Arenas is apparently back, better than ever, and ready to pull the Wizards out of contention for being the worst in the league. New Wizards coach Flip Saunders checked in on Arenas in Chicago last week and is saying the 27-year-old, eight-year pro is looking pretty sweet in the weight room and on the court. And, according to Saunders, Arenas is feeling like he’s got something to prove after all that time spent at the doctor rather than on the court.

You can be sure Wizards fans are hoping it’s all true.

The search for a new Timberwolves head coach has seemed to be endless but it is believed that it will end up with Lakers assistant coach Kurt Rambis taking over, according to Yahoo! Sports.

The main rivals to Rambis for the spot has been former NBA guard Mark Jackson and current Houston Rockets assistant Elston Turner. But rumor has it that Rambis will be offered the gig very soon.

But will he take it? Perhaps. Especially since he’s had a couple of rejections already this year, going through interviews with the 76ers and the Kings before losing out on those jobs.

Wouldn't any team in the Eastern Conference want a guy who once body slammed Shaquille O'Neal now that the big guy is playing for Cleveland?

Wouldn’t any team in the Eastern Conference want a guy who once body slammed Shaquille O’Neal now that the big guy is playing for Cleveland?

Apparently not. Celtics restricted free agent power forward Glen Davis isn’t seeing much action on the contractual front and it’s getting him annoyed.

As teams across the league (including his own with the signing of Shelden Williams!) sign other power forwards, Davis is starting to wonder what is up with his lack of signing.

Maybe it’s his own demands that are holding things up. Davis supposedly did not like the last offer made by the Celtics earlier this week, according to the Boston Herald. He sent out a few frustrated tweets: "Anybody know what’s going on with the Celtics? Cause I don’t!" and "Well I don’t know where I’m going to be!!! Where (you) guys think I’m going to be!!! Who needs a pf?"

You want to play for the Knicks, Glen?

Charlotte Bobcats General Manager Rod Higgins is keeping busy these days. He got a deal done the other day that sent Emeka Okafor to the Big Easy in exchange for Tyson Chandler. And he’s apparently spent a good chunk of time trying to re-sign restricted free agent point guard Raymond Felton.

But that hasn’t gone so well. The two sides are apparently at a "stalemate," according to the Associated Press.

So the expectation is that the Bobcats will continue to try to find some deals on the trade market. Especially since all of its division rivals have gotten better this off-season. AT least they have on paper.

The Pacers could really use shooting guard Mike Dunleavy. But nobody wants to rush him back from knee surgery. The word is that the team is still planning for him to be out till January but that he is expecting to return sooner than that.

Dunleavy is already able to cut and squat and move his leg in all sorts of ways that most normal people would define as perfectly healthy, according to the Indianapolis Star. But he’s not a normal person. So he’ll keep working out and the Pacers will keep hoping the doctors will agree with Dunleavy’s "gut feeling" that he’ll be back sooner rather than later.

Carlos Boozer still seems to be thinking that he won’t be playing for the Utah Jazz next season. And if you listened to him on Monday when he was down in Florida, it appeared that he really wants to be with the Miami Heat, according to Deseret News.

In his radio interview, he went out of his way to tell listeners how great he thinks South Beach is, how great he did in the playoffs, and how he can’t wait to find out where he’ll be playing this coming season.

Of course, if Miami can convince Lamar Odom to come to the Heat – and Dwyane Wade and team prez Pat Riley are apparently in Los Angeles this week doing everything they can on this front – the team likely won’t have the cash for Boozer, leaving him stuck in Salt Lake City.

Now that the Emeka Okafor-for-Tyson Chandler between the New Orleans Hornets and the Charlotte Bobcats, there are seemingly three centers in Charlotte: Chandler, Nazr Mohammed, and DeSagana Diop.

Hornets coach Larry Brown isn’t worried because he’s apparently planning to play the 7′1" Chandler at power forward from time to time and have him guard guys out on the perimeter. According The Baseline, Brown says that Okafor was more of a natural center than Chandler and can handle playing a more flexible game.
