Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo has now missed four consecutive games with a hurting wrist and the Boston Globe reports that there is no set timetable for his return to action.

“It appeared Rajon Rondo was close to returning to the lineup a few days ago after spraining his right wrist Jan. 18, the Celtics point guard said (Thursday) he is not able to shoot or dribble with consistency and could miss several more days,” the Globe reports.

Rondo put his wrist at 45 percent, but also noted that he “played with (his) elbow at 37 percent last year,” according to the Globe.

In the 13 games that he has played in this season, the 25-year-old two-time All-Star has averaged 19 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 9.4 assists per game.

Team captain Paul Pierce may have finally appeared in a game for the Boston Celtics Monday and delivered 21 points and eight rebounds in the team’s defeat of the Washington Wizards, but that doesn’t mean his heel is fully healthy just yet.

CSN New England reports that Pierce says his heel is only at 80 percent at this point. “I still have to get my treatment,” he said, according to the site. “There’s still some bruising in the foot. I have to wear a lot of padding in my shoes. It’s coming along, but I’m feeling more confident I think. I’m not even thinking about it, and that’s the good part.”

The 34-year-old nine-time All-Star averaged 18.9 points and six rebounds per game last season.

Forward Jeff Green recently signed on to return to the Boston Celtics for the upcoming 66-game season, but it isn’t clear when he’ll be out on the floor actually playing basketball again.

The Boston Herald reports that Green has been absent from practice and traveled Monday so he could get more medical tests. And head coach Doc Rivers was told by team president Danny Ainge not to expect Green to be at practice for the next few days, the Herald notes.

“We found something in the physical, that we anticipate is fine,” Ainge said Monday, according to the Herald. “He’s been traveling all day. We’re being cautious. We just have to be cautious. We anticipate he’ll be here soon. I don’t think it will be long. He’s just going through the tests again, today or tomorrow, and he should be fine. I’m not going to tell you what it is.”

The 25-year-old Green, the fifth overall pick of the 2007 draft, averaged 13.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game for the Celts last season.

The current offers that the Hornets are most interested in, according to Wojnarowski’s sources, come from the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers. The Boston Celtics are being “aggressive” as well, Wojnarowski notes, while talks with the Los Angeles Lakers “have gathered little, if any, traction.”

Paul won’t sign a contract extension with any team that he doesn’t feel has a good long-term supporting case, Wojnarowski notes, and one player he’d like to team up with again is fellow free agent, center Tyson Chandler.

Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Celtics GM Danny Ainge is “aggressively” pursuing deals for Rondo and the Indiana Pacers “have emerged as an intriguing suitor” for him.

A preliminary framework for a deal has been discussed, Wojnarowski reports, but a third team needs to be involved in order to make it happen. Sources tell Wojnarowski that the “Celtics are likely trying to gather the necessary pieces to make a bid for Ainge’s ultimate target: New Orleans point guard Chris Paul.”

Rondo’s name has come up in discussions :across the past few trade deadlines and NBA drafts,” Wojnarowski reports, and the Boston front office has “long been divide(d)” over Rondo.

ESPN has it, though, that the team would be willing to trade the 25-year-old two-time All-Star if it could get someone to help take more of the scoring load off of small forward Paul Pierce.

A Knicks source tells the paper that Stoudemire, who took most of the month of July off in order to rest his back, is “90% healthy.”

Stoudemire “is scheduled to resume workouts in Florida within the next couple of weeks,” the Daily News reports, but the source wouldn’t guarantee that Stoudemire would be able to take the court if the season starts on time..

The Knicks, of course, really hope the injury heals because Stoudemire’s contract for five years and $100 million isn’t actually insured due to his previous health problems.

They were at each other pretty bad, and it was a new situation I didn’t want to get into … It was my choice, yeah. There was a lot going on and I didn’t want to be a part of it.”

ESPN reports that Rondo’s injured left elbow still has swelling, but “he has full range of motion and doesn’t expect it to be a major issue moving forward.”

However, Rondo isn’t ready for full-contact basketball just yet. “The elbow is getting better,” said Rondo, according to the site. “I got another check-up on it (Tuesday). It’s getting there. It’s still a little swollen, (but) other than that, no problem.”"
