It was thought that the Jazz were just going to let Boozer walk into the sunset this offseason, but now word comes via Deseret News that Utah is already trying to get Boozer to stay in town. “We’ve had conversations with everyone’s agents throughout the year,” Jazz GM Kevin O’Connor said, “and I don’t think we ever said we’d rule out anything.”

O’Connor plans to talk to Boozer’s agent, certainly before free agency kicks in, and the word is that the team could even propose a contract to Boozer before the deadline arrives. No matter what the offer is, Boozer is believed to be interested to see what he could get as a free agent so don’t expect him to sign anything anytime soon.

Reggie Williams is a 6′6", 210-pound small forward for the Skyforce and he could be on the floor for the Warriors for his first action in the NBA as early as tonight.

In the D-League, the 23-year-old has averaged 26.4 points per game in 31 games.

Iverson’s planned heroic homecoming to Philly has been cut short by a sickness to his four-year-old daughter that has rightfully consumed his time and energy. He last played for the team on Feb. 20 against the Chicago Bulls.

One can be sure that with this move, Iverson may be sealing his fate in the NBA. He could be done for good.

The Sixers will likely announce Iverson’s status today or tomorrow.

Finley has only been in 25 games this year, mostly because of sprained left ankle, but he hasn’t exactly been taking advantage of the opportunities he’s had, either. He scored five points in the entire month of February.

The former All-Star guard was a key ingredient in the Spurs’ 2007 run to the championship.

One of his best pals had no idea that he wasn’t going till yesterday. "I’m stunned. Even with things the way they are, I could’ve sworn he’d be in Dallas by now. This doesn’t feel good," the pal said.

Iverson’s three-year-old daughter, Messiah, has some unnamed sickness that is apparently getting worse and Iverson apparently doesn’t want to leave her.

As for his playing career, he’s done decently since returning to the Sixers. He’s averaging 14.7 points and 4.2 assists per game in the 22 he’s played for the team.

So while he’s happy to be back in Philly, the word is that he’s starting to think about hanging up the sneakers for good. Whether it’s soon or at season’s end is anyone’s guess.

Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, who has led his team to three national titles, is apparently at the top of the list and former Nets coach John Calipari, who now coaches Kentucky, is also somewhere on the list.

One reason Krzyzewski is an attractive choice is because he also coaches the men’s national team, which means he’s worked with and has personal relations with such soon-to-be free agents as LeBron James(notes), Chris Bosh(notes), Dwyane Wade(notes), Amar’e Stoudemire(notes), and Carlos Boozer(notes).

The team is apparently seeing the rest of the season as a tryout for McGrady and has interest in re-signing him in July when the free-agent window gets thrown open.

That way, if the team can’t get LeBron James(notes) or Dwyane Wade(notes) – two players that are fully expected to re-sign with their current teams – they can sign McGrady.

Meanwhile, the New York Daily News has it that the Knicks are after the Chicago Bulls‘ Tyrus Thomas(notes) as well. The team is pretty much looking at any available guards out there since Chris Duhon(notes) and Nate Robinson(notes) haven’t been bringing it consistently for them this year.
